Residents were taken by surprise Tuesday evening when a sudden hailstorm swept through the town, transforming a quiet night into one marked by loud impacts and rapid weather shifts.

The storm moved in with little advance warning, bringing strong winds, bursts of thunder, and unusually large hailstones. Many compared the ice pellets to golf balls — and in a few cases, even baseballs. The sound of hail striking roofs, vehicles, and pavement echoed across neighborhoods as people quickly moved indoors for safety.

Witnesses described the moment as one of the strongest storms they had experienced in years.
“It sounded like rocks hitting the house,” one resident said, still unsettled by the intensity of the hail.

Dozens of vehicles were dented or cracked, windows were damaged, and several homes sustained significant roof impact. Local authorities issued immediate advisories for residents to stay inside until the storm passed, as streets became scattered with ice, branches, and debris.
