A frightening mystery has unfolded for Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie after her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared from her Catalina Foothills, Arizona home on January 31. She was last seen around 9:45 p.m. after a normal family dinner. Concern arose the next morning when she failed to attend church, prompting her children to check on her and call 911.
Inside the home, all of Nancy’s belongings—including her phone, Apple Watch, wallet, and car—were left behind. Authorities quickly launched a large-scale search involving helicopters, drones, and infrared cameras. Given her fragile health and limited mobility, officials say she could not have left on her own.
The home was later declared a crime scene, and investigators now believe Nancy was abducted. Adding to the alarm, a small trail of blood was found leading from the house to the driveway. It remains unclear whose blood it is. The normally quiet neighborhood is now on edge as authorities continue searching for answers.
