Nancy Guthrie Neighbors Pen ‘An Open Letter to Kidnappers’

Neighbors of Nancy Guthrie continue showing support as the search enters its third week, with no sign of the 84-year-old.
A memorial has been set up outside Nancy’s Tucson home, where people leave yellow flowers and touching messages for her and the Guthrie family.
On Thursday, a small Catholic prayer vigil was held outside of Nancy’s residence, where worried neighbors call for her safe return.
Photos taken at the scene show devotional items placed near the roadway, including candles, religious images, and a handwritten letter for Nancy’s abductors.

The front reads, “AN OPEN LETTER TO THE KIDNAPPERS,” along with a note inviting anyone to read its content and return it to the envelope.
The handwritten letter inside begins with, “A Reminder from a Fellow Sinner.”
It reads in part, “the depictions in these pictures is happening — whether you know it or not. It is also happening whether you like it or not. Do NOT be the reason Our Lady of Guadalupe weeps. You — yes, you are in my rosaries.”
There’s also a religious card that reads, “St. Anthony, please intercede and bring Nancy home.”
Along with the messages, AI-generated photos depicting Nancy Guthrie with the Virgin Mary and St. Anthony were placed in the area.

Anderson also pointed out that the uncertainty surrounding Nancy’s case weighs heavily on the community.
“Those things are all bothersome to all of us,” he added. “But I think everyone who knows about this is very concerned and hoping that she is returned to her family as she left.”
